If not for music, we probably may not have heard of James Rosemond who rose to stardom as Jimmy Henchman or Jimmy Henchmen, a music executive, artist manager, and founder of Henchmen which later became Czar. And if not for the crime that has been listed as drug trafficking, possession and use of firearms, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy to commit murder, he probably may not have faced the jury a number of times which led to life imprisonment.
In his career in music, Henchman became one of the most established as his name went as far as making the lines of lyrics of a number of songs that include Rick Ross’ Ghostwriter song. Biography of Jimmy Henchman
The 59 years old was born James J. Rosemond on February 5 1965 in Harlem, New York as an African-American. He had his growing up in Flatbush, Brooklyn in New York.
Along the line, his parents migrated to Haiti but were later divorced and his mother had to raise him and his 4 siblings alone.
Henchman has been active in the music career since 1986 and in 1992, he alongside other friends founded the music conference How Can I Be Down. 4 years down the line in 1996, he became the founder of Henchmen which later became a rap management company, Czar in 2003.
In his career, he has worked as a manager of the promoter of rap music and became one of the most prominent. He managed artists such as The GHame, Sean Kingston, Akon, Brandy, and Gucci Mane to list a few.
Crimes of Jimmy Henchman
He Was Into Drug Trafficking
There are allegations that Henchman had soiled his hands in drug trafficking in many cities that include Los Angeles, California, and New York through a group known as the Rosemond Organization. The group was said to have been transporting cocaine which earned Henchman more than $11 million yearly since 2007.
As part of the investigation about his involvement in drug trafficking, the federal law enforcement agents were able to retrieve drugs worth about 27 kg in 2010 alongside $785,000 cash proceeds from the drugs, machine gun, kilo presses, scales, and vacuum-sealed bags among other things.
He Had A Case of Money Laundering and Obstruction of Justice
Apart from selling drugs, it was further reported that he laundered the money that came from the deal. He used a variety of means to launder the money which includes the US Postal Service where cash proceeds were converted into money. It was further alleged that he used the money to pay rent as well as settle tuition.
When Jimmy Henchman learned that the authorities had figured out his place in the drug world and money laundering, he quickly vanished and was said to be hiding at a hotel that charged $1,000 per night.

His Crime Include Murder for Hire
2 years after his arrest for drug trafficking, Jimmy Henchman was wrapped in another case. But this time around, it was a murder case where he was said to be connected to the death of G-Unit affiliate Lowell “Lodi Mack” Fletcher as well as murder-for-hire and a conspiracy to commit murder.
He allegedly planned to commit murder for his son’s assault by Tony Yayo who was given 10 days of community service for the alleged crime.
He Was Allegedly Involved in the 1994 Shooting of Tupac Shakur
Tupac’s murder and 1994 shooting have remained a mystery but in 2011, a convicted killer claimed that Jimmy was responsible for hiring him to rob 2Pac at the Quad Studio.
Another report on the 2Pac’s case suggested that Henchman confessed to the crime but he was not going to be tried for it.
2Pac mentioned the drug lord in his song Against All Odds where he said “promise to payback Jimmy Henchman in due time”.
He Is Facing 2 Life Imprisonment Sentencing
In a sentence that was announced by Loretta E. Lynch, Jimmy Henchman was sentenced to life imprisonment after evidence showed that he was guilty of leading the Rosemond Organization that was dealing in drugs and covering it up with music. The conviction also included his place in the possesions of arms structuring and obstruction of justice and money laundering.
In 2015, he was again sentenced to life in prison with an addition of 20 years in a case that had to do with murder for hire that began in 2012.
He Appealed All His Sentencing
In 2016 following his first st sentencing that is related to drugs, Jimmy Henchman filed a habeas corpus appeal where he was seeking a new trial but it was dismissed in 2019.
Again, in 2020, he lost another appeal for his murder-for-hire cases.
