Juanita Bynum is a gospel singer, minister, author, and self-proclaimed prophetess who uses her experiences to reach out to other people especially women and the youths in order to bring them closer to God.
She rose to fame when she began counseling women who couldn’t find closure from past relationships. Bynum Juanita dedicated her life to helping people see the beauty in living a chaste life.

Biography of Juanita Bynum
She was born on the 16th of January 1959 in Sears Tower, Chicago, Illinois. She is one of 5 kids of Elder Thomas Bynum Sr. who was an Elder in their church and Katherine Bynum, her mother.
While growing up, she used to attend St. Luke Church of God in Christ which was the Pentecostal church her dad was an elder in.
She attended Perry Middle School and once got the lead role in the play ‘My Fair Lady by George Benard Shaw and this was where she piqued the interest of television show agents who wanted to cast her in similar programs. To this, her mum declined because she wanted her daughter focused and following the path of God. She used to make Juanita sit quietly at home so she would hear the voice of God, while her peers played outside.
She attended Saint’s Academy Church of God in Christ High School in Lexington, Mississippi.

1. Juanita Bynum Got Married At The Age of 21
Juanita Bynum got married at the age of 21 against the wishes of everyone including her parents. She was warned that she was making a huge mistake but she did not listen because she thought she was in love.
She eventually got married and realized she should have listened to the warnings because like she was told, it was a huge mistake. According to Juanita, she later realized that she got married for sexual pleasure which was a wrong and terrible decision.
2. She Was Confined To Psychiatric Care
After her husband left her in 1983 and their eventual divorce in 1985, Juanita began dealing and battling with disease and condition known as ‘Anorexia Nervosa’ which landed her in a correcting institution.
The divorce took a huge toll on her and she even lost sight of God’s path and took to having multiple sexual affairs which included men and women and even drug abuse.
3. Juanita Ventured Into Other Career Fields
Prior to when she finally found her calling and path back to God, she worked as a hairdresser and also a flight attendant for Pan American Airways in 1990.
After this, she got a job with a company where she worked until 1991 when the company liquidated.

She once lived a life where she was out in the snow with no proper covering to give her warmth. Apart from this, she had to wait to get food stamps so she could survive.
She lived a really wretched life before she found her way back to God.

She was invited to join a singles conference in Dallas by Pentecostal evangelist Bishop T.D Jakes.
He is a key figure in Juanita’s transformation into being a renowned prophetess and her journey to being who she is now; a minister of the word.
After attending the conference for two years, she began to teach and minister at the conference. She was no longer just an attendee but she became a minister.

Juanita Bynum ministers and preaches to young people especially ladies to keep their bodies clean as temples of God.

She is a loud voice and leading advocate against domestic violence. This is due to the experience she had with her ex-husband, Bishop Thomas Week III which was filled with traumatic domestic abuses.

Corky is the name of the dog Juanita adopted. She shared a connection with the dog because when she saw the dog, she heard a voice that told her to adopt the dog as they both were at a point in their lives where nothing seemed to be worth it.
The dog felt no need to try to be noticed because he felt no one would even notice him.
The adoption brought healing to both Juanita and the dog.
10. She Was Arrested
Juanita was arrested on the 13th of April 2013 for failing to appear at a civil court proceeding.
She failed to pay ALW Entertainment the sum of $140,000 which was a requirement based on a judgment made in 2007.
