Ange Kagame is the only daughter of the current president of Rwanda, Paul Kagame. She is the second oldest child of her parent’s four children.

Ange Kagame was born on September 8, 1993, in Brussels Belgium. Her mother, Jeannette Nyiramongi is the First Lady of Rwanda.
Kagame has three brothers: Ivan Cyomoro, Ian, and Brian. She is the only daughter of her parents.
Due to security reasons, the children of the Rwandan president were not exposed to the public throughout their childhood. Ange Kagame attended Dana Hall School Wellesley, Massachusetts, United States.
She earned a degree in Political Science at Smith College. She also has a master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University. She speaks English, Kinyarwanda, and also French.
Husband
Ange Kagame married Bertrand Ndengeyingoma on July 6, 2018. The couple met in 2016 during Kagame Day in San Francisco, Los Angeles. After dating for almost a year, Ndengeyingoma proposed to Kagame while she was studying at Columbia University.
They got married at a grand reception in Rwanda in December 2018. The couple welcomed their first child and daughter Ava Ndengeyingoma in July 2020 at King Faisal Hospital Kigali.

Family
The first family is headed by Paul Kagame who was previously the commander of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF). He met his wife through his relatives who suggested and recommended that he marries Nyiramongi. The latter was a Tutsi exile living in Nairobi, Kenya at that time.
Her mother is the founder and chairman of the Imbuti Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit organization with the aim of supporting the development of a healthy, educated, and prosperous society.
The first lady is widely recognized for her fight against HIV/AIDS and poverty. She was the first to host the first African First Ladies’ Summit on children and HIV/AIDS prevention in May 2011 in Kigali, Rwanda.
