10 Long-lasting Marriages in Nollywood

1. Pete Edochie and Josephine Edochie

This list will not be complete without giving a spot to the ever-young and talented actor popularly known as RMD and his wife Jumobi Adegbesan; the former presenter for African Independent Television (AIT).

Their love story officially began in 2000 and has been through trying times. They have been involved in infidelity scandals that even got many saying they won’t last another day as a couple. Nonetheless, they still continue to remain a power couple and seize every time to complement each other’s efforts. They are also proud parents of three children.

Before the couple met, RMD was previously married to May Ellen Ezekiel who was a famous journalist and writer. It is not clear when the couple got married, but their union ended in 1996 with the death of May.

7. Norbert Young and Gloria Young

While this is not a love story you may be familiar with, the pair have proven to be a power couple on all accounts and have remained true to the marital vows since 2002.

Norbert was once asked the secret of their successful marriage and in response, he revealed that they do not pretend nor do they live above or below their means. He also added that love keeps them going despite the tough times.

On the celebration of their 19th anniversary, the father of three Robert Young praised his wife saying “Someone’s daughter has been tolerating my excesses”.

8. Zack And Ngozi Orji

Here’s another made-in-Nollywood couple who have maintained a successful marriage for so many decades and are proud parents of three. The exact time they got married is not known however judging from the birth of their first child in 1992, it’s possible that they got married in the late 80s or early 90s.

If these calculations are correct, it means that the Nollywood couple has been together for over 3 decades.

9. Omoni and Nnamdi Oboli

This pairing is unarguably a match made in heaven. The couple has been married for over 15 years and they are proud parents of three boys.

It’s applaudable that no controversy has ever reached the media from their corners. Call it keeping private things private or just being in love. They are one couple whose love seems not to fade.

10. Odunlade Adekola and Ruth

This is another Nollywood marriage that has stood the test of time. The actor Odunlade and his wife Ruth first met at a vigil in 1995 which was organized by the Christ Apostolic Church in Sajo Abeokuta.

They soon became friends and after years of closeness, they started a relationship that would later lead to their marriage in 2003.

While the pair have managed to keep her marriage private, it has not been free of controversies that are seemingly unending. The actor has been linked to several extramarital affairs with some of his female colleagues yet, their love seems to continuously overshadow the rumors and gossip.
