Hanks Anuku is a Nollywood actor. His roles in the Nollywood scene almost always portray him as a bad boy, gangsta, and villain. He has received so many awards for his acting skills. He is also a philanthropist and an entrepreneur. He is the founder of Henk Anuku Film Academy, founded in 2019. He attended schools in Ibadan and Auchi and has an HND in Mass Communication.

An online news portal reported that’s Nollywood actor, Hanks Anuku had passed away after a brief illness. This news was reported and spread just 13 days after veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva denied the fast-spreading news about her husband and also a veteran actor, Olu Jacob’s death.

Hanks took to his Instagram page to debunk the rumors in a video. He wrote “I am Hanks Anuku, Nollywood actor and I am alive. My haters are dead and Jesus Christ is my deliverer and He liveth. Poisonous press vipers on prawl but they shall be perplexed and disappointed in Jesus’ name, Amen. One love, fans”.

He also took to a live video on Facebook to cry out and debunk the news. He insisted that he was alive and well because the reports of his demise were fast-spreading and so it became necessary to make the public announcement. He said that God was in charge of his life and not rumor-mongers.

1. Hanks Anuku’s Early Life and School

Hanks is originally from Ibadan, Oyo State in the South Western part of Nigeria. He was born in Ibadan. He attended Loyola College in Ibadan and got his basic education from there after which he moved on to and graduated from Auchi Polytechnic(Edo State, Nigeria) in 1981.

2. Hanks Anuku’s Acting Career

Anuku returned to Nigeria in the early 2000s and started his acting career here. The way for this break into the Nollywood industry was paved for him by Regina Askia, a veteran Nollywood actress. His debut movie is titled ‘Skeleton’ however, the movie which gave him the big break and threw him into the limelight was ‘Senator’.

He moved on to producing and is regarded as one of the highest-paid, influential, and talented actors in Nigeria. He has been in the industry for over two decades and has acted in over 150 Nollywood movies.

Hanks is a biker for the fun of it. He likes to drive big bikes and this even led to an accident he had some time in 2015 in Ghana which led to a rumor of him passing away due to the accident. However, nothing bad happened to him. He also spares time to go out and have fun with friends from Nollywood or other industries in Nigeria.

Hanks is married with children. He shares pictures of his family (his wife and two young kids; A boy and girl) on Instagram depicting a perfectly normal and happy family. He also made several Instagram posts of a beautiful grown lady whom he referred to as ‘my first daughter’.

5. Other Rumors about Hanks

In 2015, there were rumors, spreading like wildfire on the internet about him being infected with AIDS. These rumors had it that Hanks got infected with the virus as a result of his numerous contact and relationships with different women.

This rumor brought a lot of suffering and trouble to him and his family and he spent a lot of time and effort debunking and refuting the rumor. These rumors had it that he slept with over 80 women in Zambia and Zimbabwe and as a result, infected his wife with the disease.

6. Hanks Anuku Changes Nationality

In 2017, Hanks up and moved his family to Ghana. He stated that he got a message from God asking him to leave Nigeria and move to Ghana and he obeyed the message. He also changed his name to Nana Kwame Fifi Kakra as he took Ghanaian citizenship. He also stated that he planned on staying in Ghana for the rest of his life. It is also said that he denounced his Nigerian citizenship as a result.

Hanks is estimated to have over $1 million to his name according to AustineMedia.com. This net worth definitely puts him in the league of one of the richest actors in Nigeria.

He stands over 6 feet tall and has a build that lets him pass for all the bad boy roles he plays in movies. These coupled with his thick baritone voice helps him portray, perfectly, his thug-like attributes in movies.

He was naturalized as an American citizen in 2017. After his graduation from Auchi Polytechnic, Hanks moved to and stayed in the United States of America for a long time.
