Timolin Cole, 62, is one of the five children of the late singer-songwriter Nat King Cole with his second wife Maria Hawkins. Her sister was the famous Natalie Cole, who died on December 31, 2015, as a result of congestive heart failure.
Although Timolin cole and her twin sister, Casey Cole lost their father when they were only three years old, they have worked on several projects just to preserve his legacy. The twin sisters started the Nat King Cole Generation Hope to honor their father’s legacy.
Ever since she married former musician Gary Augustus 33 years ago, she took his name and became known as Timolin Cole Augustus. She shares two sons with the former musician.

Natalie Cole’s twin sisters Timolin Elizabeth and Casey Eugenia were born on September 26, 1961, to Nat King and Maria Hawkins, at St. John’s hospital in Santa Monica California. Aside from Natalie and Casey who are her biological sisters, Cole had other siblings as well. Her sister Carole, was the daughter of her mother’s sister whom her parents adopted. Her brother, Nat Nelly Cole was also adopted.
Growing up, Timolin and her sister attended a private school in San Fernando Valley called The Buckley School. According to reports, quite a number of famous people sent their kids to school at that time. Cole attended the same school with kids from the Disney family.

Cole was married to Gary Augustus married on December 21, 1990. Her husband is a former musician, songwriter, and record producer.
The couple welcomed their first son Julian on May 7, 1996, while Justin was born on April 10, 1998. Julian has chosen to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather. He is a Hip-Hop artist, producer, and songwriter. His brother on the other hand is into Digital Asset Mining.

1. She Founded The Nat King Cole Generation Hope in 2008 Alongside Her Sister
In 2008, the Cole twins founded the Nat King Cole Generation Hope 2008 with the aim of reaching out to other people especially children through music education. The non-profit organization reportedly gives equal access to music instruction, mentorship, and resources to disadvantaged youths in rural communities. However, the organization relies solely on the public’s donations to keep running.
Timolin, 62 is not just a co-founder but also the secretary and treasurer of the board while her sister Casey Cole is the president of the Board. This is not the only time the twins have worked together for a good cause. The sisters often share their philanthropic works on Facebook.
Timolin Cole Augustus and her sister used to work in their own public relations company called Cole Public Relations. Also, Natalie’s sister used to work for Harry Belafonte as his publicist.
2. Her Father First Got Married at the age of 18
Timolin Cole’s famed father met his first wife Nadine Robinson while they were both on tour for the all-black Broadway musical Shuffle Along. The pair fell head over heels and so they married at the time the singer was 18 and they moved to Los Angeles to form the Nat King Cole Trio. The marriage sadly ended when he was around 29 in 1948.
According to reports, Cole’s father married her mother, also a singer six days after he finalized his divorce in 1948. Her mother, Maria, was also previously married to a serviceman Spurgeon Ellington.
3. Timolin and Her Twin Sister Were Only Three Years Old When Their Father Died
The mother of two was just three when her father sadly passed at the age of 45. Nat King Cole started having health challenges in September 1964 which made him collapse after performing at the Sands Hotels in Las Vegas. After undergoing a chest X-ray, the doctors observed a malignant tumor on his left lung.
It was then revealed that Timolin’s father, being a heavy cigarette smoker, had lung cancer and was told he would live for only a few months. However, his left lung was surgically removed but on February 15, 1965, he died at the hospital. His remains were interred in Freedom Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. The Unforgettable singer recorded more than 100 songs and received several awards for a couple of his hit songs. He received a Grammy award for best performance by a Top 40 Artist for his song Midnight Flyer in 1959.
Timolin Cole’s mother raised her and her siblings to adulthood before she passed at the age of 89 in 2012 after a brief battle with cancer.

4. Timolin and Her Twin Sister Are the Only Surviving Children of Nat King Cole
Of all the five children of the jazz pianist and his wife, only Timolin and Casey are alive. Their oldest sister died at the age of 64 in 2009 after battling lung cancer as well. Her brother Nelly died of AIDS in his prime at the age of 36 in 1995.
Natalie Cole was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 2008 but kept pushing until 2015 when died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on December 31, 2015, at the age of 65.
5. What is Timolin Cole’s Net Worth?
At the moment, it is uncertain if Timolin Cole has an exact net worth yet. However, she was included in Natalie’s will that was read following her death. Her sister’s estate was valued at $1.3 million. Other beneficiaries were Natalie’s only son Robert Adam Yancy, Casey Cole, and Pamela Harris. At the time Natalie passed, she was rumored to have a net worth of about $5 million.
Also, it was reported that her father had a net worth of about $3.5 million at the time he died. Timolin’s family members allegedly received $1 million each.
