Haller plays as a forward for Ajax and the Ivorian national team. He however started his career with a French football club known as Auxerre before moving to another club in the Eredivisie club, Utrecht.

He is a player whose motivation is the need to score goals. Sébastien once admitted to being frustrated whenever he is unable to net a goal during play. As a result of his eagerness to score goals, Haller has been a formidable player who has a lot of eyes on him.

2. He Became Independent At An Early Age

When he realized he wanted to play football professionally, Haller then moved out of his parent’s care at the tender age of 13. He went to stay at Champs-Sur-Yonne with a friend and fellow football enthusiast’s family.

While with this family, he was able to develop his skills better and he also grew faster. He did not find it challenging at all because he barely had the time for anything other than play.

Upon Haller’s return to the Netherlands from England he signed with Ajax for a club-record fee of 22.5 million Euros and his spell in the club was quite impressive.

4. He Lashed Out When Asked If He Would Be Part Of Afcon

Ivorian Forward, Haller was offended when he was asked his stand on playing at the Afcon tournament. He felt the question was disrespectful because he believed it wouldn’t have been a question if the tournament was a European one.

This happened in an interview with the Dutch media and a reporter asked if he was going to leave his club team to play with his national team. He insisted that it was an honor to play at the Afcon and he was more than willing to go for the tournament.

6. The Forward Has Caught The Eyes Of Arsenal FC

Following Arsenal’s desperation to sign a striker, they have their eyes on Sébastien. Since the ban on Pierre-Emerick Aubamenyang, the club has been in dire need of a replacement.

Ajax and Ivory Coast’s Romain is a right-footer who has been described as a versatile finisher. With a need to score as many goals as possible, he has been likened so many times to David Trezeguet.
