Rosemary Ndlovu a former South African policewoman has been making headlines in the country. As a law enforcement officer, it is expected that she would protect lives and ensure the safety of the general public. However, she is on the opposite side standing trial for the alleged murder of 5 of her relatives and her boyfriend, conspiracy and fraud.
Reports show that the ex-policewoman has claimed the insurance covers on all her deceased relatives running into a million South African rand. She was arrested in 2018 when one of the hitmen she hired set her up by informing the police after she planned to set her sister’s house ablaze.

She was Nomia Rosemary Ndlovu in the mid-70s in South Africa. She is one of the daughters of Maria Nyavana Mushwana, the same woman she tried to kill. Before her arrest in 2018, she was a police officer working at the Thembisa South Police Station.

1. She Purportedly Made About $93, 000 From Her Bloody Acts
According to investigators, the ex-police officer gained almost 1.4 million rands, that is about $93, 000 from her bloody schemes. When her cousin Witness Madala Homu was slain in March 2012, she purportedly received R131, 000.
A year later, her sister Audrey Somisa Ndlavu was murdered, and she claimed R717, 000 in insurance covers. She also earned R416, 000 after her boyfriend Mabasa died.
When her niece Zanele Motha was killed in 2016, the killer ex-cop was given about R120, 000. However, there are no reports of how much she got after the death of her nephew Mayeni Mashaba in 2017, and Audrey’s son Brilliant Mashego in 2018.
2. She Is Suspected To Have Hired Hitmen To Do Her Dirty Jobs, But She Personally Poisoned Her Sister
It is asserted that the ex-cop hired the services of hitmen to carry out most of the dirty work. However, there are assumptions that she personally took care of her sister Audrey; poisoning her tea before suffocating her.
3. The Ex-Cop Didn’t Succeed In Killing Her Mother, Sister, and Five Children
Ndlovu allegedly gave Lakhiwe Mkhize R2,600 to murder her mother Maria Nyavana Mushwana. The assassin was clouded by pity and instead walked away. He asked for a cup of water and left.
Subsequently, she ordered another hitman Njabulo Vincent Kunene to kill her sister Nomasonto and her five children. The plan was to give the family sleeping pills, so the hitman and his men could break into the house and set them ablaze.
The hitman couldn’t bear the side of Nomasonto’s 5 months old baby. So, that became her family’s saving grace and the beginning of trouble for Ndlovu.
The ex-cop was arrested by the police in 2018 following a tip-off by the man she sent after her sister.

4. Ndlovu And Her Late Boyfriend Have A Son
Ndlovu’s partner Yingwani Maurice Mabasa is among those she has allegedly killed. She and Mabasa have been together for 4 years and have a son. There were two attempts on his life, before the third that led to his death in October 2015.
Mabasa’s dead body was recovered near Olifantsfontein Police Station with more than 80 stab wounds. It was said that the two were in an abusive relationship.
5. She Was Aggressive To Photographers In Court
Her trial has become a trial of the century, captivating South Africans to follow the events at the court as they unfold. Initially, she seemed unperturbed and nonchalant about her trial, occasionally pulling some catchy stunts for the media.
However, all that changed when she threw potato chips at photographers. The brazen display of hostility prompted the police to leg-shackle her.
6. She Was A Gambler
Her former colleagues at the Thembisa South police station described her as a gambler. In as much as she loves to gamble on a regular basis, she has also shown generosity to her them.
According to reports where her colleagues spoke on anonymity, they said she always buys them lunch all the time. She always comes to their help whenever they are broke.
7. Two Of The Men She Called Husbands Are Dead
According to her former colleagues, Ndlovu revealed to them that she lost her first husband who was killed. But, she hasn’t told them the name of the first man.
Some years later, she met Mabasa, describing him as her husband, who is also dead too. One of the officers at the station said, they now realize how strange it was that she lost both husbands, who were both killed.
