It was on October 6, 1971, that Lamman Rucker was born in the United States in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the U.S. to Malaya and Eric Rucker. Of Barbados descent, he spent his early life in Washington, DC, Maryland area.

As regards his education, Lamman went to Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC where he got his high school before proceeding to Duquesne University and Carnegie-Mellon University from where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in information technology and business. He also obtained a Master’s in education and curriculum development.

Rucker has always had an interest in acting since he was a little child. when he was in 4th grade, he played the role of Martin Luther King in a school play.

(2007), Meet The Browns (2008), Why Did I Get Married Too? (2010), The Undershepherd (2012), Service to Man (2016), and Sinners Wanted (2018).
The first TV role of Lamman Rucker was in As the World Turns in 2003 and then in 2004, he was in All of Us.

Others are Law & Order, All My Children, and Half & Half all in 2005. He portrayed Will Brown in House of Payne in 2007 and Meet The Browns from 2009 to 2011. Lamman was in Greenleaf from 2016 to 2020 and then in Mentoring Kings (2020).

In 2010 and 2011, Lamman Rucker was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in Meet the Browns (2009) at the Image Awards (NAACP).
