Joh’vonnie Jackson is the daughter of Joe Jackson and his mistress Cheryle Terrell. Her extended family is well known in the music industry. Her mother had a 25-year affair with Joe Jackson without the knowledge of his family.

Joh’Vonnie was rejected and shunned by her famous family for almost 35 years. She shared in an interview that almost all her well-known brothers and sisters treated her as an outcast and she even didn’t meet Michael Jackson until she was 29 years old.

Joh’Vonnie has written a book about her life, especially regarding her extended family. The book is titled ‘Bastard Child’ a term which was rumoured to be used on her by Katherine Jackson even though Jackson doubts that Katherine would refer to her like that because of how sweet she has been to her.
In the book, she talked about how her father was so loving to her and continued to spoil her with gifts.
2. Her parents met at a Christmas party
Joe Jackson and Cheryle met in the early 1970s when the latter was a secretary for the Los Angeles police department. Joe was introduced to her at a party and she had no idea who he was.
Cheryle described him as being so sweet to her afterwards. he even brought her her favourite candy bars the next day.
Their relationship birthed Joh’Vonnie Jackson in 1974, just a day after Michael Jackson’s birthday. Her parents spent so much time together and her dad kept a luxury boat at their house.
3. Her father was about 20 years younger than Joe Jackson
Joh’Vonnie Jackson’s father was about 20 years younger than her mother. It was reported that after they met she wasn’t sure if she liked him because he was not her type of man and he was a married man. Even Cheryle’s parents didn’t approve because Joe was the same age as they were.
Even though The Jacksons believed that Cheryle was an obsessed fan, Jackson refuted it saying her mother was an independent woman and Joe liked that about her so he continued to chase her.

Joe Jackson was known to be a very strict disciplinarian to his family. Aside from that, the media reported that he was abusive towards his children. But he and his wife denied that claim stating that he only whipped his children and gave them physical punishments. But Michael Jackson claimed that he was physically and emotionally abused by his father at a young age.

7. Joe Jackson died a month to his ninetieth birthday
Jackson lost her dad on the morning of June 27 2018 two days after he was hospitalized in Las Vegas in the final stages of terminal pancreatic cancer. it was two days after the ninth anniversary of the death of Michael Jackson and a month to his 90th birthday.
He was buried at Forrest Lawn Memorial Park Glendale Los Angeles where his son was also buried.
