Jdot Breezy is an American rapper who is well known for songs such as ‘Groupies’, and ‘Tweak’ which has another version by him known as ‘Tweak 4.’ From a town in Florida, he learned to carve out a special niche for himself, away from the regular rap people are used to.

Jdot’s music is characterized by fast paces and aggressive songs. However, he prides himself on being versatile and can easily switch sounds. He can switch from a slow, melodic tempo to a high and fast rap, hitting his listeners and fans with great vibes.

Though still quite young, he admits he has always been in love with music from his childhood. Now, he puts into his music, a hybrid of all he has heard, experienced and loved.

Here Are 10 Facts about the Florida Based Rapper, Jdot Breezy

1. He Grew up in Jacksonville

The rapper was born on the North Side of Jacksonville, Florida. He grew up an average kid in an average environment and went through his childhood as any regular kid would. Jdot Breezy enrolled in school and was quite involved in schooling activities.

He grew up with an older sister whom he calls ‘Lala’. In an interview in 2021, Breezy projects that his older sister was about 22/23 years old. Judging from this, he probably is about 20 years old as of the same year. She is however his only known biological sibling.

2. He was an American Football Player in School

While in school, Jdot played football and had no particular position as he was very good at all positions. He played the wide receiver, point guard, and all other positions there were. He was so good that he was supposed to lead his team to the state championship as they had qualified for it. Unfortunately, he missed the competition as he was unavailable to make it through.

3. Jdot Breezy ‘Jumped off the Porch’ at the age of 14

As earlier stated, the rapper was raised as an average kid in the block. However, when he got to the age of 14, he had to start hustling for himself. He got to the age where he wanted to become independent and so took to the streets.

In a bid to hustle, Breezy started mixing with the wrong crowd and began to get involved in a lot of wrong stuff. Eventually, he got into shady deals that got him in trouble and then things began to spiral out of control. Nonetheless, he believes that everything he went through was necessary to get him where he’s at.

4. He was Arrested Twice

While he was wilding and getting mixed with the wrong crowd, Jdot got into serious trouble, of course. He was part of an armed car hijacking crew and eventually got caught.

At this time, Breezy was barely 17 and did not really know much about crimes and their consequences. He was a 10th-grade sophomore student and knew basically only about football and school. Breezy got arrested and because he was still a minor, was sent to juvenile detention for 9 months.

Prior to his sentencing, he had already spent 3 months in a program so, in total, he was locked up for a year. While at Juve in Cyprus Creek, Breezy tried to stay away from trouble so he’d be able to get out on time.

When he eventually got out, he went back straight to his life; practicing football and wilding. He admitted that he was remorseful and had mentally changed at the time but he was still enjoying life.

Eventually, he got back to doing wrong by the authorities and got arrested again. This time, he was already 18 and had gotten to the age of being tried in a proper court. He was taken to the county, tried, and headed to jail yet again.

5. Jdot Breezy did not Graduate

Between going to jail twice and starting up a career that got people’s interest in him, the ‘Tweak’ rapper couldn’t graduate. He got entangled in beef that he tried to avoid but couldn’t.

Those who had issues with the rapper kept on sending threats to him through his school. As a result of this, he was asked to go home from school one day when the threats had gotten too much.

Recounting the experience, Breezy stated that the school asked him to just go home for the day and that they would reach out to him to resume. The school never called till after a month and by then he had missed a lot.

Upon returning to school, the principal told him that he couldn’t continue schooling there. He was advised to go to an alternative or tech school. Neither of these worked out for the rapper and so he just quit school.

This was quite unfortunate because the young lad really wanted to graduate. He had plans to continue playing football, graduate, and get a job. Unfortunately, his dreams were cut short when he was forced out of school.

6. Beginning of Music for the Jacksonville Rapper

Breezy stated that music has always come naturally to him from his childhood. However, he was more comfortable playing football as everyone thought him to be of impeccable character.

He used to rap as a kid but only in secret as he was scared and shy about rapping in public. However, soon after he left prison, he became more confident in himself and put out his first music.

With his exposure, he realized that people loved his song and his followers grew expeditiously. Therefore, Jdot got inspired and motivated to make more music and put it out. This however attracted to him haters and his subsequent dropping out of school.

He then moved away from where he had always known to be home in order to pursue a career in hip-hop.  With fewer friends and no crowd, he was able to be more productive and started putting out more music as he had more time to himself.

Soon after garnering a fan base, he piqued the interest of the ‘Hit Maker Group’. They sent him a DM on social media and after talks, he got involved with them. Jdot however had to be reminded often about his new status as a celebrity because he wasn’t used to it and didn’t know how to act accordingly.

Additionally, he has been featured in music by different rap artists. One of such artists is Lil Poppa who featured the young rapper on his ‘Wire’ song.

7. He Prides on his Ability to be Versatile

One of the rapper’s most priced abilities is that of being different and sounding unique. He admits that he has different sides to him and he loves for people to see all the sides at different times in his career.

According to the rapper, he has the emotional, soft, gangster, and normal sides to him. These different versions of him, he also tries to infuse into his career and songs. He has obviously done well with it as his project ‘Creation’ shows a different side of him.

It is also one of the only projects by the Florida rapper that got him nervous as he was unsure how people would welcome the sound. His song ‘Camera C’ is also one that shows how diverse his sounds can be. The song is an infusion of a melodious hook and hard verse.

8. Jdot has a Couple of Rappers he Looks Up To

Like most rappers in the game, Breezy has a couple of people whose sounds mesmerized him. These rappers he grew up listening to and found their songs appealing and welcoming.

Although the names of people he looks up to are controversially unacceptable in different parts of the United States, Jdot still loves their sounds. He admits that sometimes he doesn’t feel comfortable listening to their songs in public because other people could get angry.

Nonetheless, the North Side rapper loves songs by Chief Keef and Young Boy. The songs from both rappers appeal to him and he loves their music individually, without the controversies surrounding them.
