Kiesha Miles is an American singer and former member of an R&B music group known as ‘Xscape’. The group was formed in 1991 and has disbanded a couple of times before its final reunion.

The group initially started with Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris, Kandi Burruss, and sisters, LaTocha and Tamika Scott. Kiesha Miles joined the group after they disbanded and attempted a reunion in 2005. She joined the group as a replacement for Kandi Burruss who left and started a solo career on her own.

However, ever since she joined the girl band, she contributed to the group’s fourth album titled ‘Unchained’. She also has a single with the group entitled ‘What’s Up’. Unfortunately, these projects went downhill and weren’t successful. On her own, she has a couple of songs that have given her so much fame like ‘Make It Go’ and ‘Secret Weapon’.

Who Is Keisha Miles?

She was born Kiesha Miles in Atlanta and raised there. From when she was a toddler, she was exposed to songs as Atlanta was a place that birthed in her, most of her skills and talents. She also goes by the alias ‘Babi’.

From the tender age of 4, Keisha had already performed in a talent hunt. By 13 years, she formed an R&B singing group and was the lead singer with the group. When she turned 16, Babi was discovered by Perri ‘Pebbles’ Reid. The same guy who was the mastermind behind the girl band ‘TLC’.

Miles attended Tri-Cities School of Performing Arts where she maintained excellent grades despite having a fast-growing music career. At this time, her talents in writing, singing, and dancing had been harnessed and she was steadily wowing her audience.

Babi Miles was only 17 years old when she signed a publishing deal with Sony ATV. She also released so many songs some of which made it to being soundtracks of movies and cartoons.

Similarly, she worked closely with singer, Ciara and was even featured in her ‘Goodies’ album. By 2004, Miles joined another girl group known as ‘Xscape’ where she remained till 2006.

With ‘Xscape’ she had so many opportunities to showcase her talent. She also gained recognition and friendship that she got the opportunity to work closely with another band member, Tiny. Tiny and Keisha maintained a relationship and she was even featured in two seasons of the TV show ‘Tiny and Toya’.

Is Kiesha Miles Married?

Kiesha Miles, the singer, and producer, as of last ‘heard’ wasn’t married. Upon the realization of her pregnancy in 2013, she was advised by her mum to marry the father of her child but she refused. She then moved from Los Angeles to Atlanta.

She reportedly got pregnant by her friend and she did not see the need of getting married to someone she did not love. The ‘Xscape’ member is not married but is a proud mother. Upon hearing the news of her pregnancy, a friend asked her if she would like to be on a reality TV show about her journey of being pregnant.

After giving it a thought, she agreed to it and was featured on WeTV’s reality show ‘Pregnant and Dating’. This show chronicled the life of the producer while she tried balancing her career, pregnancy, and dating. She admitted to hiding her situation from her dates because she did not think it was necessary to tell ‘yet’.

This was quite easy for her to do because she did not start showing until she was about 6 months in. However, she began shooting the show 3 months in. Another reason she kept her baby a secret was the fact that she didn’t want to be rejected.

Kiesha was able to draw strength, however, from other single parents, she knew of. Former co-band member, Kandi was one of those people. Also, she took strength from her mum who was a teen mum.

Additionally, Miles watched a lot of other reality TV shows that portrayed single mums navigating through life. Although she eventually admitted that what she watched was totally different from what she actually went through during her own pregnancy and delivery.

Is Miles Still An ‘Xscape’ Member?

Kiesha is reportedly not with the girl group ‘Xscape’. She and the other member of the girl music group have fallen out a couple of times and tried to reunite a couple of other times.

After their failed 2005 projects, Babi remained with the band until 2016. She reportedly pursued a solo career in music and its production. Known for her talent, she continued with a solo career and would go on to write a lot of songs for herself and other musicians.

However, on the 25th of June 2017, the four original members of the ‘Xscape’ music group performed together again. This was their first performance in over 18 years since they first went separate ways.

Tiny and her band performed at the 2017 BET Awards and were also scheduled to perform at the Essence Festival and Detroit’s ‘Chene Park’. In addition to this, by September of the same year, they announced a tour that included Monica and Tamar Braxton. Moving on, they made a TV appearance as well, performing at Wendy Williams’ show.

Did The Group Remain Together After Their 2017 Reunion?

By November of the same year, Kandi made a public announcement proclaiming she was going to stop performing with the group.

The band then went on to release two singles and both were with the exclusion of Kandi and Babi. The singles which were released on the 1st of December 2017 are titled ‘Wifed Up’ and ‘Dream Killa’.

With Kandi’s final exit from the group, Tameka ‘Tiny’, Tamika, and LaTocha formed a subunit of the band and named it ‘Xscape3’. They then became a fully registered group under the CAA by January of 2018.

With this, it indicated that the group was left with just 3 members and Miles wasn’t part. The band even went on to release an EP in 2018 titled ‘Here For It’. By May 2021, the group is still functional and participated in a pre-Mother’s day battle against ‘SWV’.

Where Is Kiesha Miles Today?

Kiesha Mile is still pursuing a solo career, and being a mother. Although her stint with the girl group ended, her own personal career did not end. She was wont to travel back and forth L. A and Atlanta and while in Los Angeles, she worked on several projects.

Keisha Babi Miles worked with BenJ of ‘New Boyz’, she also worked with girl group ‘Super’, and managed Reigndrop Lopez. Additionally, she co-produced her own reality TV known as ‘2Keyz’. Miles together with Tiny Harris started a production company that led to the creation of ‘OMG Girlz’.

She had a lot on her plate and most likely still does. As a woman with many talents, she most likely has her hands on a lot of projects and is most likely writing more hits like before.
