The 16 year old’s father is from Ghana.  According to her, it was cool growing up to hear her grandfather talk with his heavy accent. She playfully got to learn the accent by mimicking her grandparents. Little did she know that it will later be a selling point.

The actress reportedly grew up with her mother and grandmother but there is no information about her father.

4. Akiley Love has martial arts skills

The young star had no prior knowledge of martial arts before her stunning performance in coming to America. One would nearly believe that kungfu is one of her hobbies judging by the incredible display she made in support of her sister, princess Meeka when the palace was invaded by general Izzi. Akeem had returned to Queens and left the defense of the Zamunda palace in the hands of his courageous daughters at that period.

5. Akiley Enjoys African Dance and Music

Love has confirmed in an exclusive interview that she has a special liking for African dance and music. She portrayed this in the movie and later confirmed that it’s the same case in reality. She is also glad she acted as an African princess, portraying Africa in a positive light.

Akiley has openly shared her joy when she was told she looks like U.S first female colored vice president Kamala Harris. She has a soft spot for Kamala who has invariably become a model for many colored young girls around the world.

The Coming 2 America actress noted that her character in the movie was a mischievous and hilarious one.  She said being on set is much fun for her and she is hoping she will create her movie in the future that she will be the main character. She has significantly been preparing herself for many exciting upcoming opportunities and projects.

Coming 2 America was first released in 1988 while the sequel was released on March 4, 2021. The film features quite a number of Hollywood stars like Arsenio Hall, Eddy Murphy, and Shari Headley.
