Dineo Moeketsi is a South African radio and television presenter, actress, DJ, and tv producer. The Essential Rush became her signature program in the afternoon on the radio. Her popularity increased with her Dineo Live, which pushed her fame as one of South Africa’s leading female presenters.

Outside of radio, Dineo has made her mark as a reality star and a woman who negotiated the kind of work environment she wants.

Dineo Moeketsi was born on 20 July 1989 in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa. Her name Dineo means gifts. The keen mind will link her name to many of her professional abilities. She is currently 37 years old.

Her parents, Kgotlaesele Ranaka and Nonceba Ranaka trained her and her three siblings. Dineo’s father was a radio host and he did most of her raising.

Dineo’s three siblings include the popular South African actress, Manaka Ranaka, another sister, Mpumi Ranaka and two brothers, Mzingisi and Ranaka Ranaka.

She attended the National School of the Arts in Johannesburg. In 2009, she graduated from the New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, New York.

She had low self-esteem after she was body-shamed on the Vuzu TV show, 10 over 10. It made her dislike attending events.

She and rapper, Zothile ‘Solo’ Langa tied the nuptial knots in a beautiful ceremony on 14 September 2019 at Embassy Hill in Constantia Valley, Cape Town. While it was a society affair, it was a real expression of love at its best.

They had done the traditional rites in May with close family members. her husband was allegedly told that they had to get their ancestors acquainted in a dream.

Since both believed in the power of their ancestors, they paid lobola for each other to avoid issues in the future. The secret to the success of their marriage is because they defined what they wanted from the beginning.

They presently own a production factory together.

She was surely made for the entertainment industry. Immediately when her career was launched in 2010/2011, she became a success story. Dineo started as the host for the O-Access show which was a musical magazine program in South Africa.

A breakout role in the television drama, The Queen made viewers store her face on their memories when she played the role of Kea Khoza.

Other places she has worked for in her career are YFM, Highveld Stereo, Cliff Central, and others. She left most of these radio stations for reasons ranging from working conditions to better jobs.

She currently hosts The Bridge, a midmorning show on metro Fm.

1. She Broke Down On-Air At YFM

Dineo had a problem with one of the admin staff, Tamaria Motsope at YFM leading to her emotional breakdown while on air. The breakdown had started long before she went on-air. Dineo’s presentation of Dineo Live On Drive made her the first female jock on the station.

She had been in a confrontational position with colleagues before the breakdown during a live show.

2. Dineo Moeketsi Was Either To Choose Rehab Or Resign

The loss of her job became real when management asked her to check into rehab. The presenter started abusing drugs to deal with the frustration of losing her afternoon drive show.

Management at YFM gave her the option of dealing with problems by entering rehab of losing her employment.

Her health led her to a three-day extended stay in the hospital. She was admitted at Life Fourways Hospital for a brain-related illness.

On February 24, 2011, she was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Rumors have it that she was never in rehab but was instead in the hospital fighting for her life.

Though news of her health condition came out in 2011, she later revealed she was first diagnosed with it in 2004.

This health condition has pushed her to the forefront of mental health advocacy.

4. Her Reality Show Is One Of The Longest Running One In South Africa

The reality star made it to stardom with her own production work on Dineo’s Diary. for a long time, the show continued running.

Today it is considered one of the longest-running reality shows in South Africa. The show was wrapped up in season 5.

5. Dineo Moeketsi Loves Shoes

One of her memories is of being spoilt with money from childhood. Her mother and grandmother gave her enough money to spend but her mother also opened an account for her.

That account was not accessible to her. Now she loves to spend her money on shoes. Dineo claims to have many pairs of shoes especially Christian Louboutin.
