Chicco Twala is a 61-year-old South African musician and producer who shot to stardom in the 1980s following his solo career and collaborations with famous stars like Benda Fassie, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, and Nkosana Kodi.

Chicco began his music career in the 1970s, playing in soul bands like Umoja and Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse. However, he went solo and also took on music production in the 1980s.
He became increasingly well-known in 1987 after his first triple platinum record, particularly with songs like We Miss You Manelo, which referenced Nelson Mandela and the quest for freedom. Mandela was still a prisoner on Robben Island at the time the song was released.

His Marriage to Thembi Crashed on Allegations of Infidelity
As earlier noted, the South African musician was married to Thembi. Although Thembi was born and raised in South Africa, nothing is known about her early years or family history. However, Chicco Twala was born on June 5, 1963, in Soweto, Johannesburg.
