Arnez J is a United States comedian, actor, and writer who is quite famous for his performances in All-Star Comedy Jam: Live from South Beach, and the comedy series, ‘Comics Unleashed’.
His comedy is almost a replica of the early years of comedy as he draws most of his comic inspiration from those days to relive it in his own unique and funny fashion.

Arnez Johnson is an Atlanta-born Comedian whose parents and siblings are yet to be known. However, it is known that he attended Aurora High School and was sports inclined during his school days. He was a baseball player and he was pretty good at playing the sport. Arnez was focused on Baseball and had huge prospects at playing basketball as well and funnily, he wasn’t even tilted towards the Arts.
He envisioned a future in sports and although that didn’t materialize as he expected, he has no problem because he was mostly about what would bring him money and success. He was born on the 3rd of November 1966 and was 12 years old during the Caroline Brunnet show of 1978 which he loved.

1. Arnez J’s First Job
At the age of 14, Arnez began his first job at a gas station. He lied to get this job and he said the job was to help him earn money to see him through school.
2. Arnez J Went To Prison
No, he did not go to prison for lying to get a job, he actually went to prison for getting involved in criminal activities which one day led to a death and his subsequent arrest. This act of his which landed him in prison also ruined his chances of getting a spot with the Philadelphia Phillies and almost destroyed his chances of playing sports.
3. He Fell Into Depression For Two Years
After doing time in prison for a year, Arnez J got released, and within this period and figuring out what to do with his life, he fell into a depressive state for two years. This state was brought about because he constantly thought about what his life would have been if his dreams to be a sportsman hadn’t been broken.
During these two years, Arnez was more like a shadow of himself, making no chance to delve into anything else.
4. How Did Arnez J Begin Comedy?
During the late 1980s, Arnez decided to pick himself up from his state of depression and fix his life together. He went through training to become a Continental Airlines flight attendant.
While working his job as a flight attendant, Arnez was fond of making the passengers laugh. He had two personalities for different locations; when he went to San Francisco, he would put up the ‘gay flight attendant’ impression. This cracked up the passengers, but when he was in Boston, he would act like a hard and snobbish attendant.
People knew he did this for fun and when he saw how happy his jests and jokes made people he started considering a new career path.
Arnez J is widely known now, for his impressions and mimicking personalities which has a way of getting his audience laughing really hard.
He left his flight attendant job and started trying out his comedy skills. He started with Atlanta-area clubs and as of 1987, he made his earliest Tv comedy appearance on Showtime Comedy Club Network and later moved on to bigger crowds.

He was one of the contestants in the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition which was held in 1992. Arnez even made it through to the finals of the competition. This proves how talented and funny he is. This opened so many doors for him and had him branching into different activities.

6. Arnez J’s Failure At His First Stand-up Show
During his first standup comedy show in Atlanta in the early 1990s at Comedy Act, Arnez had the shocker of his early comedy life. The audience he performed for during the show didn’t quite relate to his jokes and didn’t feel his hilarious part, therefore, they booed him.
Arnez did not let this deter him, he continued with comedy, and three months down the line, he became a full-time comedian and even had one of his performances in Illinois taped for broadcast on Cable TV. Few months after that, he was booked for a performance in California, and by this time, Arnez had carved a niche for himself in the comedy industry and had owned the stage and began to meet fellow comedians who were already on the comedy scene such as Steve Harvey.

At a point in Arnez’s life, he had the opportunity to go back to his first love; Sports. In 1995, he was recruited by scouts for the famous ‘Harlem Globetrotters’ basketball team and so at this point, he was shuttling between being a basketball player and a comedian.
He joined the Harlem Globetrotters’ team in 1996 but unfortunately, his career ended when he had a knee injury that put him out of the team three months into being with the team.

A very private man Arnez J is and although he has kept most information about his family and personal life private, we do know that he is married and has a son whose name is JeLaney.
He admits that he keeps his jokes and performances family-friendly with almost no curse words and one of the reasons for this is because he wants to have a relationship with audiences of all ages and as he has a son. He watches what he says so as not to curse so much or use vulgar words that would be offensive to parents and which would also be considered not ‘child friendly’.

Thankful to the fact that he picked up comedy, Arnez got to tour with Billy Dee Williams. He also goes on tours for his own personal shows and his crowds and audiences love to watch him perform.

When he isn’t doing comedy or touring, Arnez loves to go on fishing expenditures and he luckily catches different sizes and species of fish. He doesn’t just love to fish, he loves to also eat fish so he took the parable; “Don’t just give me fish to eat, teach me how to fish” a little too serious.
