When Angela Okorie busted into the acting scene in 2009, she wasn’t so popular but gained fame within 5 years, for featuring in a good number of films. It didn’t take long for her to rip the benefits of her talent. In 2015, the actress won the City People Entertainment Award for Best Supporting Actress.

So far, the Nollywood actress showed that aside from acting, she’s enjoying a peaceful life. The stunning Nigerian actress was born Angela Ijeoma Okorie on the 7th August 1985 in Cotonou, Benin Republic, as the third in a family of five children by her parents. Details regarding her childhood and family background remain unknown.

However, from the little information gathered, the Nollywood star is well-schooled. She attended the famous University of Lagos and graduated with a degree in theatre arts, and proceeded further to study public administration from the Lagos State University.

Although she was born and raised in a foreign country, it got many people talking about her nationality and racial status; she is first a native of Inshiagu, Ivo LGA of Ebonyi State, and belongs to the Igbo extraction of South-Eastern Nigeria. Therefore, the actress is a Nigerian.

Career History of Angela Okorie

Prior to her journey into acting in 2009, she modelled for a soap company for over 10 years. She dumped the modelling job and instead landed her first role in the 2009 movie Sincerity, featuring alongside other stars like; Nonso Diobi, Yemi Blaq, Oge Okoye, and Chigozie Atuanya. But it was the 2011 movie Holy Serpent that ushered her to prominence. According to reports, the beautiful Nollywood star has featured in a close to hundred movies.

Besides acting, she also has a vested interest in music; especially gospel, and movie production. In fact, she further revealed that music has always been in her blood; so, she has written a good number of songs and plans are underway for an album release.

So, in 2020, she fulfilled the promise by dropping the much-expected first musical album tagged “Burst Everywhere”. The 10 track album has songs like; Light In The Dark, Baby Chuchu, Aradite, Vibes, Legit and Lift Me Up.

The delectable actress has also won some awards in the course of her acting career. The awards include; Best Upcoming Actress in Nigeria at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, Most Prominent Actress At the City People Entertainment Awards, and also the Best Supporting Actress in An English Film at the City People Entertainment Awards (2015). She also clinched the Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards and Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, respectively.

How Her Marriage To Chukwuma Orizi Failed

Angela Okorie successfully shrouded in secrecy the issues surrounding the survival of her marriage to Chukwuma Orizu. Little information is available regarding the alleged failed marriage. However, what she couldn’t hide is the fact that she had a relationship with him which lead to their marriage in 2010. And the marriage produced a son; Chamberlain Orizu. He was born on September 5th, 2011.

Speculations arose in 2017 suggesting the marriage has ended, with the media citing infidelity by both parties in the marriage. Neither the actress nor her husband led the cat out of the bag. There was no social media-related post to that effect. But, one thing was certain; his pictures disappeared from her Instagram page. She has declined to answer questions raised in that regard during several interviews.

1. Her Son Was Born Dead 

Angela Okorie revealed that her son Chamberlain Orizu was stillborn at birth, but he got through.

2. Angela Okorie Almost Lost Her Life In Late 2019

In December 2019, an attack by ferocious gunmen almost claimed her life. The former model sustained gunshot wounds to the head, but she survived after extraction.

3. Her Net worth

She is one of the richest female actresses in Nigeria. Various media reports pegged her net worth between $600,000 and $800,000. For her, to have featured in over 100 films, the amount is not unexpected.

4. She Once Modeled For Delta Soap

Before venturing into the movie industry, the star actress was a top model. She modeled for delta soap, a product of the Orange Group Limited.

5. Angela Okorie Intends To Be A Movie Producer

She is prolific. From modeling to acting; and from singing, she is making plans to go into movie production.

6. Desires To Be A Humanitarian 

In an interview, the beautiful actress wants to dedicate her life to offering humanitarian services; by building an orphanage home and catering to the needs of children, especially the less privileged ones.

7. Speculations About Her Second Marriage

Rumors came flooding around in 2020 that the actress got married. A video of her song Baby Chu Chu fueled the whole second marriage thing. However, She debunked the rumors to be untrue, noting that she has no intention to go into any marriage. The man at the center of the story is Nwele Michael Chukwudi, a model and car dealer. There were stories peddled by the media before the emergence of the video that the two are possibly dating.
