Andre Rock was born on April 1, 1967, 2 years after his older brother, Chris Rock, who was born in 1965. He attended and graduated from Samuel J. Tilden High School. Afterward, Andre went on to study Biology at Benedict College.
Andre Rock’s father is Julius Rock, born Christopher Rock II on January 6, 1932. He used to work as a newspaper delivery man. Julius hailed from New York but was born to a South Carolina man. Rock’s paternal grandfather moved to New York and worked as a cab driver, cum preacher.
Andre’s mother is Rosalie Rock nee Tingman, who was born in Georgetown County on February 15, 1945. She was a teacher and social worker who now runs the charity organization ‘Rock This 619’. Chris Rock, Andre’s Older Brother Has Been in Controversies
Aside from being the brother of a popular entertainer, he will always be linked to things that involve him. Take the year 2022, his older brother found himself in the midst of a controversy albeit unforeseen. The Everybody Hates Chris, Chris Rock started the year as the 94th Academy Award host in March and the event that unfolded during the event was memorable.
He made a joke about the wife of fellow American actor, Will Smith which rubbed off wrongly on both Will and his wife. The resulting consequence was a slap to the face by Smith which would forever be historic.
Once again in August of 2022, Rock received backlash for making unpleasant comments about the death of Nicole Brown. The sister of the deceased, Tanya Brown, did not take Chris’ comment lightly and she has spoken up about it.
Rock’s statement was made during his Sunday night show while he commented on how he rejected the invitation to host the Oscars again.
