He was born Adam Mohamed Ounas on November 11, 1996, in Chambray-Les-Tours, France to parents who were from Algeria. His father, Hadji made an impact on the young Ounas that started showing interest in the game at a young age.

His father who was a goalkeeper encouraged his son to join the youth academy of a local club, Tours FC at the age of four. From that point onward, Ounas pitched his game by aiming shots at his father whenever they practiced. This may have also been instrumental to his attacking skill.
