William Nadylam is a French actor and stage director. Aside from this, he is known for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald(2018), Still Water(2021), and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore(2022).
William Nadylam Traces his Ancestry To Africa and Asia
William Nadylam was born on August 2, 1966, in Montpellier, France. However, his parents have roots in Asia and Africa. His father is from Cameroon while his mother is Indian.
While growing up, he spent time in different parts of the world like Cameroon, Reunion Island, and Belgium. He returned to South France when he was 13 years old and started his High school education at a boarding school.
The 58-year-old Set Out To Be A Doctor
Nadylam’s father was a pediatric and war doctor who had a great influence on him as a young child. From experiences he saw at the age of nine when his father helped accident victims at a crash scene, he had dreams of following in his father’s career footsteps by becoming a doctor.
Thus after high school, he enrolled at a medical school in Paris where he spent three years studying. However, things changed when he also applied to an acting school to encourage a friend he was helping with the process. Notably, he had also entered a dance competition to improve his dancing skill at about the same he got admitted to acting school.
This marked his change from a medical profession to acting. While this is a change of path for him, he considers his acting career a way of helping people.
How William Nadylam Became a Successful Entertainer
Having attended acting school, Nadylam launched an entertainment career as an actor on stage, on screen, and as a director later on. He made his on-screen debut in the 1988 movie Black Mic-mac 2 when he was just twenty-two years old.
After that appearance, he was not seen on screen till in 1997 when he appeared in the short film Tout le Monde Descend. He also voiced a part in the 1998 animated film Kirikou and the Sorceress, a movie about how a young boy saved a village from a witch.
Since then he took many roles both in the theatre and on screen. His big-screen break in the Fantastic Beasts series as Yusef Kama added to his popularity.
Away from his stage and on-screen role, he is also a director. He is credited for directing the stage plays Stuff Happens by David Hare, and David Mamet’s, Edmond. He has also taken his directing skills to other parts of the world like the favelas of Brazil and French prisons in order to encourage people.

He Had an Accident That Stopped The Production of Hamlet
He almost lost his career when he had an accident that made him lose his talking ability. Notably, the sad accident occurred on the first day that the production of Hamlet was supposed to start. At first, the Doctors were uncertain about his ability to speak again.
Considering the fact that the show was one of his notable works, the director, Peter Brook decided to postpone the show till he got better.
After this, Nedylam appeared in the show for the next 2 and a half years as they toured the world.
This experience of postponing the production of Hamlet for him to get better inspired him to start looking for the best in people and to always work toward uplifting others.

Where is William Nadylam Now?
The multi-lingual actor, director, and voice narrator is based in New York and Paris. He revealed that he has a personal project, a short story for children to be made available online.
According to him, he spoke with more than 86 actors across the world who will share a story for children in their language within a period of five minutes. Apparently, these stories will be made into a 24-hour storytelling show. As of this writing, he has not released the work.
