Famous for her roles as Ardelia Mapp in Clarice and Veronique in Snowfall, Devyn Tyler is a well-established American actress. She has been active on the silver screens for about 2 decades and doesn’t seem to be slowing down soon.
Starting off her career in acting from a young age, it is no surprise that Tyler’s movie credits are heading to about 40 roles. Interestingly, the college saw her picking up a course that was out of the acting field but Devyn Tyler found her way back to her first love. Her family suffered a setback when they lost their house to hurricane Katrina in 2005 and had to move to Houston.
Hurricane Katrina Destroyed Her Home in New Orleans
The American actress was born Devyn Ariel Tyler in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her date of birth is said to be May 7, 1991, and she was reportedly born as the only daughter of Mr. Kevin Tyler and Mrs. Deneen Tyler.
Devyn’s mother is said to be a former actress and so it is no wonder where the 33-year-old picked up her skills from. She initially began her entertainment journey as a dancer before discovering a profound love for theatre and acting.
Upon realizing their daughter’s love for dance, Mr. and Mrs. Tyler then chose to send her to schools that would help her finesse her talent. It is reported that she attended Lusher Alternative Elementary School. While here, Devyn was exposed to a lot of dance styles and techniques.
Moving on, she reportedly studied at Montessori Elementary school and then graduated from Lusher Middle School. However, in 2005, she had to move to Houston with her family as they relocated.
The reason for the Tyler family’s relocation was the devastating consequence of Hurricane Katrina. Back in New Orleans, the hurricane hit hard and destroyed cities and homes. Devyn’s family house was one such home that was ravaged by the disaster.
Back in Houston, the family started afresh with help from well-meaning people who donated to their cause.
She Started off in Theatre
As already stated, Tyler’s love for dance and performance saw her delve into theatre works. By the age of 8, she has already starred in her first production, and subsequently, bagging roles came easily to Ariel.
She attended High School for the Performing and Visual Arts where she studied theatre. Throughout her High-school days, the actress was in a theatrical production or another. Despite being fond of theatre, she took a break from it for about 3 years. Returning back to acting saw the New Orleans-born fully partaking in the film industry after joining. Meanwhile, reports have it that Tyler, while studying, still got involved in some productions. The title of the movie is Act 3 of Waiting for Godot, which was filmed while she was in her senior year. In the production, she was cast as Vladimir.
