Clare-Hope has two siblings; an older brother and an older sister named Grace. Her sister was a student at the University of Warwick. The Ashitey children were well educated as they attended some of the best schools in London.

The actress attended Brimsdown primary school located in her birthplace. She then went ahead to attend The Latymer school in Edmonton, North London. From SOAS University, Bloomsbury, in London, the young Ghanaian lady graduated after studying anthropology.
Upon graduating from school, Clare-Hope went on to work in the corporate world before she quit and focused on her entertainment career. She worked in Insurance, digital media, and a financial service company. She has however stated that she does not miss working in an office, anyway.

Clare-Hope Ashitey has been in a relationship with a man named Ross Fitzgerald McKinnon for a couple of years now. Her social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram began to carry pictures featuring him in 2016.
