The multi-talented Nigerian athlete Ogom Chijindu is said to be naturally talented and hardworking. As a fashion designer, OG as she is popularly known, started sewing at the tender age of six under her mother’s tutelage.
She has equally proven to be a highly skillful football player after actively playing soccer, basketball, volleyball, and track events. Before she retired in 2019, Ogom broke the record of being the first female football player to complete ten years and 11 seasons.
In 2020, it was reported that the athlete would be crowned a princess of Asaba, Delta state in Nigeria.

Who Is Ogom Chijindu?
Ogomegbunam ‘Ogom’ Chijindu is originally from Nigeria but she was raised in a large household in Southern California with her four brothers, Chinedu, Emeka, Ifeanyi, and Chukwudi. She was born on January 26, 1984, to her parents, Patricia and Chijndu.
The Nigerian athlete attended a private school in Ponoma where she was actively involved in sports.

The 40-year-old reality star has been dating the American professional basketball player, Kwame Alexander, who had previously played for BC Nokia.
As regards marriage, it seems the couple is still dating. However, the lovers have talked about walking down the aisle in the past but it did not sit well with Kwame. The latter also stated that he does to want to have children until is married, which he is also not ready to do. The couple revealed this in an episode of Basketball Wives.
However, there are rumors that the two might be engaged already. Based on his Instagram post on December 30, 2021, Kwame shared a picture of his girlfriend, Ogom celebrating an anniversary.

1. OG Fell in Love with Football While in High School
While growing up, Ogom Chijindu played soccer, basketball, volleyball, and track events but later on, she became more passionate about soccer. She decided to focus on soccer while in high school and college. While she was in college, she trained with the women’s professional soccer team before the U.S league was dismantled.
In 2009, she got the chance to play professionally in the Women’s Football League. She played in the Legends Football League and was known as one of the most fierce players in the league.
As part of the Los Angeles Temptation team, Chijindu, who played cornerback has been in the Legends Football League since its inception in 2009.
Before she retired in 2019, Ogom broke the record as the first female football player to compete for 10 years and 11 seasons.
2. From Being in the Football League the Cast of Basketball Wives TV Show
The athlete and her boyfriend became the fan’s favorite after she joined the cast of Basketball Wives LA Season 7 in 2018. Known for her dramatic ways, Ogom and some of the other basketball women were involved in some serious drama. However, during the season 8 reunion of Basketball Wives, she was removed.
4. She Lost Her Brother, Emeka in 2018
Emeka Chijindu fell ill and was reportedly diagnosed with flu and pneumonia on his left lung in April 2018. However, On April 28, 2018, he was found lying lifelessly in his room by their mother who had previously prayed with him. The paramedics were called but unfortunately, they could not revive him.
3. She was Sued for Calling Her Basketball Wives Co-Star Evelyn Lozada a Racist

In 2019, Evelyn Lozada, OG’s co-star on Basketball Wives reportedly used a monkey GIF while referring to her. This did not go down well as Og and some viewers believed she was being racist.
Later on, Evelyn filed a lawsuit against OG for defamation. The reality star also claimed that OG’s accusations made her lose her endorsements. A few months later OG countersued claiming the whole feud landed her in the ER. The retired athlete said she had to deal with stress and anxiety which resulted in her going to the hospital because of chest pain.
In her own defense, Lozada, who is Hispanic has two children of African and Hispanic descent said she was the chairperson of Sauti Yeti Center for African Women and so cannot be a racist and still raise money for African women.
However, it is not known if the two women have resolved their issues.
5. In 2019, Ogom and Kwame Were Victims of Social Media Hacking
The reality TV star shared on Instagram how she and her boyfriend were blackmailed for money after her boyfriend’s account got hacked in 2019.
The couple claimed the hacker also threatened to destroy their careers if they did not comply. Kwame later revealed he had to pay $4,000 just to get his account back.
