1. The soccer player is one of 8 children

Saïd Benrahma was born Mohamed Saïd Benrahma in Aïn Temouchent, Algeria on August 10, 1995. He has 6 sisters and a brother who have all stayed at the far ends of the media.

At a young age, he started to get exposed to soccer and by the time he was 6, he started to play for a club.

2. Saïd Benrahma moved to France when he barely 12

Although he started his life in his home country in Algeria, he had to leave his father whom he was close to, and move to France with his mother. The beginning of his life in France was a difficult one, especially because he could not speak any French. He was laughed at but instead of getting discouraged, the process made him mentally stronger to withstand a lot of things that will come his way in later life.

It was at the age of 6 that Benrahma started to play football for a club even though he had always been a lover of the sport. He started his youth career in Algeria at the age of 9. However, according to him, there were financial constraints that stopped him from getting soccer training as he wanted. But then, he joined Nice – a club he cited to have helped to shape him and where he gained a massive opportunity to learn a lot that he needed to excel.

With Nice, the winger started his senior career journey in 2013 at the age of 18. It was there that he made more than 30 appearances and scored numerous goals along the line.

His talent, resilience, and skills put his name among sort-after players from Algeria, and in no time, he moved to the French team Angers in 2016 on loan. He spent a year until he had another opportunity to explore football through Gazalec Ajaccio on another loan in 2017. The same year, his career kicked off with Chateauroux.

Brentford became the next home of the winger from 2018 to 2021 and along the line in 2020, he started another journey to playing for the English team, West Ham United on loan, and in 2021, he fully transferred to the team on a contract that will expire in 2026.

The mother of Saïd Benrahma has been supportive right from the time he was young. Even when he moved to London to continue with his career, the mother of the established player would move to watch his matches as well.

In one of the famous moments, Benrahma walked straight to her after full time, showered her with a hug, and let her have his jersey, while she kissed his hand. The older woman would hand the jersey to a fan.

Aside from playing for West Ham United, the Algerian-French national in 2015 started his national team career. To him, it is a thing of pride to play for his home.
