Early Background and Career of Adama Traoré

The 2015 FIFA U-20 best player was born to his parents on the 25th of January 1995 in Mali’s capital Bamako. He didn’t start playing football quite early like some of his contemporaries until the age of twelve when he joined JMG Academy in Bamako in  2007. After spending five years at the academy, Malian Premier Division side AS Bakaridjan signed him, but he only played three games because of an injury.

At the beginning of 2014, the 28 year-old midfielder joined the French side, Lille, and was instantly sent on loan to the Belgian second-tier side Royal Mouscron-Péruwelz. Eight months later, he made his first Ligue 1 appearance in a 1 nil away loss to Nice in September 2014.

The following year, the Malian midfielder moved to Monaco in a four-year €14 million contract. His Champions League debut in July 2015 ended on a positive note, with his side trashing Young Boys 4-0 in the 3rd qualifying round, though he was introduced in the 80th minute.
