Taahirah O’Neal is the daughter of the former American basketball player, Shaquille O’Neal. She is the first and oldest daughter of the NBA Hall of Famer who had an incredible basketball career for almost two decades, winning 4 NBA championships, including 15 All-star games, 3 Finals MVP awards, and an MVP award.

1. Who is She?
The 28-year-old daughter of Shaquille O’Neal and Arnetta Yardbourgh was born on 19th July 1996 in Orlando, Florida. She grew up in Houston, Texas where she currently resides with her mother.
Her legendary basketball father didn’t marry her mother. Reports speculated that her mother’s refusal to sign a prenuptial agreement ended their relationship which could have led to marriage. More so, her father went on to marry Shaunie O’Neal and had four children with her.
It is from the marriage that Taahirah got her four half-siblings; Shareef, Amirah, Shaquir, and Me’arah. On the other hand, she doesn’t have any biological link with Myles B. O’Neal who is Shaunie’s son from her previous relationship but was adopted by her dad following their marriage.
She had her university education in Atlanta, Georgia where she attended the Oglethorpe University in Brookhaven and graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Politics and African Studies.

2. Taahirah’s Father Runs a Foundation
She has an interest in Philanthropy just like her father who went the extra mile to establish a foundation known as The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation. It was founded in 2019 to create opportunities for children and youth in communities to reach their full potential.
In 2021, the foundation organized its maiden fundraising gala known as “The Event 2021,” and raised $2.7 million to pursue its goals and objectives of bringing change to children and youth in the Atlanta and Las Vegas areas. The event which took place at the MGM Resorts, Las Vegas was sponsored by Pepsi Stronger Together, MGM Resorts, Alkaline88, Dollar Loan Center, Englestad Foundation, and Fium Capital among many others.
3. Her Father Has a Sleeping Disorder
Taahirah’s father was diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2011. According to reports, the famous basketball player had a snoring problem, which his partner drew his attention to. It was said that she became concerned when she noticed he sometimes stops breathing in his sleep.
After the diagnosis confirmed the condition, he tried on his first CPAP mask and went on to receive treatment. He now gets quality sleep.

4. She was Diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension in 2018

At the age of 22, O’Neal’s first daughter was diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH), which was formerly known as Pseudotumor Cerebri. The condition occurs when there is an increase in pressure inside the skull without any reason. It is very common in overweight women of childbearing age.
It said that its symptoms mimic a brain tumor that is not present. As a result, the patient experience headache behind the eyes, ringing in the ears, and sometimes brief blindness.
Therefore, Taahirah is one of the 100,000 people in the world that have currently been diagnosed with the condition.
5. Is Taahirah O’Neal Dating Anyone
It is not clear whether she is involved in any relationship or not, what we know is that her father made dating goals for all his daughters. According to reports, the 4-time NBA championship winner said none of his daughters would date till they are about 25 years of age. Also, none of them would date NBA players.
It seems he doesn’t want them to ride the boat on NBA waters, he rather prefers them to not only choose the right men but also focus on their education. However, he is not sure whether they would keep to the rule or not.
6. She Hates Sports

On her part, she made donations to charities and sponsored a project that enlightens young people, and encourages them to engage in philanthropy.

It is not known how much money she has, but her father earned a huge pretty decently as a basketball player, entrepreneur, and sports analyst. He made about $292 million in salary from his basketball career after playing for teams such as Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Boston Celtics.
