It was on 13 May that Jobe London was born Thabang Thanyane, although his actual year of birth has remained elusive. It is speculated that he might probably be less than 20. Many consider him to be a cheerful and easy-going young man who has earned his way to fame through consistency and dedication. He has performed on major stages including the DSTV choice awards and Massive music.
He was born and brought up in Mqpetla in Soweto. As a child growing up, he fell in love with music and later became a dancer. In fact, he started building his fan base as a dancer before he transitioned into becoming a musician.
The fact that he was born and raised in the township of Mqpetla in Soweto, greatly influenced his type of dance and music. This is a place that prides itself as the founding place of many South African styles of hip hop (kwaito and Kasi rap) which is popular among black South Africans.

Rumors Began That He Was Suffering From Cancer
Earlier in 2021, fans began to notice some changes in the looks of the musician, and a viral video of him looking like he had lost some weight was trending on social media. Some even believed he was suffering from cancer as he did not seem to look as healthy as he had always been.
There were also speculations that the Amapiano singer was undergoing cancer treatment which probably added to him looking emaciated. Jobe however explained that the video was taken some months ago and he was actually diagnosed with tuberculosis and has since gone through treatment and is now fully recovered.
Jobe London Was A Victim Of Death Hoax
In August 2021, Jobe London found himself on the vile side of social media when a post was made on Facebook claiming that he was dead. The post soon went viral as fans started to send in their condolences even though some social media influencers took the side of reasoning and asked the public to wait for an official statement from the singer’s family or the authorities before spreading the news, citing that it is indeed disrespectful to address someone as dead without confirming if it is false news or not.
Jobe soon also took to his social media handle to clear the air. In a tweet he sent out, he wrote: you all are insensitive bruh”. Following the tweet London sent out to prove that he is still alive, he got over three thousand likes as well as tweets which appeared to be a sigh of relief from his fans.
Following the unfortunate incident, it was reported that Jobe’s legal representatives had released a statement on his behalf, denying the rumors that he has any health challenges. They stressed that these were just false rumors which have caused prejudice and harm to Jobe’s character, personality, and psychological well-being. They also threatened to take legal action against anybody who makes false claims concerning the well-being of their client.
