Jonathan Rubain is a South African gospel artist well-known for his sensational gospel hits, he developed his music career at a tender age. While his local community of Hanover Park in Cape Town Province might have been his inspiration to sing, it was his courage, resilience, hard work, and determination that shaped his career.

Jonathan Rubain was born in Hanover Park, Cape Town, South Africa some 37 years ago. He spent the first 6 years of his childhood in Bonteheuwel, but his parent later moved back to Hanover Park where he was born. There his father, who was working for the City of Cape Town, and his mother who was working for a factory in Steenburg raised him alongside his younger brother.
Even though, there is not much information about his background. From the little details available, he had his education at Groenvlei High School.
Growing up in an area that is notorious for drugs and hooligans, the good family values instilled in him and his brother saw him turn out into a fine and disciplined man. He survived the traps of adolescence and peer pressure.
His 10 years marriage to ex-wife Cherish produced three beautiful kids; Mingus, Malachi, and Micah. Sadly, the marriage ended in 2018 following irreconcilable differences.
